Job Title: Assistant Chief (Policy)

Job Summary

The Assistant Chief (Policy) supports the development, analysis, and implementation of policy initiatives aligned with the organization’s objectives. This role involves conducting research, drafting policy recommendations, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring data-driven policy decisions. The Assistant Chief plays a key role in assisting senior leadership in policy formulation, research management, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Policy Research & Analysis
  • Conduct in-depth research on economic, social, and public policy issues.
  • Analyze policy trends and their implications for institutional and national priorities.
  • Draft policy briefs, reports, and position papers based on data-driven insights.
Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination
  • Collaborate with government agencies, industry stakeholders, and research institutions.
  • Assist in organizing policy discussions, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Facilitate communication between internal teams and external partners.
Communication & Reporting
  • Prepare policy reports, presentations, and briefing notes for senior management.
  • Summarize complex policy issues in clear and concise language for different audiences.
  • Support public outreach and media engagement on policy-related topics.
Policy Development & Implementation
  • Assist in formulating and implementing policy strategies in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support the preparation of policy frameworks, guidelines, and recommendations.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of policy changes on relevant sectors.
Regulatory Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure policy recommendations comply with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in tracking legislative developments and advising on their impact.
  • Maintain documentation and databases related to policy changes.
Project Support & Management
  • Assist in managing policy-related projects and research initiatives.
  • Coordinate data collection, policy impact assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Support in drafting funding proposals and project documentation

Qualifications & Experience

  • An MA/MSc (18 years of education)/All but Dissertation (ABD) status from a foreign university OR an MPhil from a national HEC recognized university in Economics, Public Finance, Public Policy, Social Policy, Development Studies, Demography, Public Sector Management, Development Studies or in related field.
Age: Maximum 50 Years
