Job Title: Deputy Director / Manager Research Development
Job Summary
The Deputy Director / Manager Research Development will be responsible for strategic planning, capacity building, funding acquisition, and fostering interdisciplinary research collaborations within the university. The role involves identifying funding opportunities, assisting faculty in securing competitive grants, developing research policies, and supporting the university’s research agenda. The position also plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with research ethics, promoting innovation, and establishing industry and government linkages for research development. The ideal candidate will have expertise in research administration, proposal development, grant writing, funding strategy, and university-industry collaboration. This position is crucial for enhancing the university’s research profile, expanding research funding sources, and supporting faculty in executing high-impact research projects.

- Assist the Director in overseeing the institution’s research development strategies, including the identification and prioritization of research initiatives.
- Facilitate the preparation, submission, and management of research proposals, ensuring alignment with funding opportunities.
- Identify and secure funding for research projects through grants, partnerships, and sponsorships. Develop and manage strategic collaborations with academic institutions, industries, government
- agencies, and other research organizations.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, ethical guidelines, and regulatory standards in all research activities.
- Provide guidance and support to researchers in developing high-quality proposals and securing funding. Monitor and evaluate the progress of funded research projects, ensuring they meet objectives and
- Support the commercialization of research outputs and intellectual property protection.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and networking events to promote research development and foster collaboration.
- Contribute to the development of institutional research policies and strategies to enhance the impact of research outcomes.
Qualification & Experience
- MS/M.Phil (18 years) with 2nd Division / B-Grade in Social Sciences, Research Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Business Education preferably in economics from HEC recognized University.
- 2 years of experience in research management, grant administration, or academic administration
Age: Maximum 50 Years
Core Competency
- Strong knowledge of research funding agencies, grant management, and university research policies.
- Experience working with national and international funding agencies, research organizations, and industry partners.
- Familiarity with intellectual property (IP) policies, innovation management, and commercialization.
- Certification in Research Administration, Grants Management, or Higher Education Leadership
