Job Title: Lecturer
Labor Economics
Job Summary
The Lecturer in Labor Economics at PIDE will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, engaging in academic research, and contributing to the intellectual and policy dialogue in their respective specialization. The role requires strong subject expertise, a commitment to student learning, and the ability to foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Curriculum Development
- Develop and teach courses in core economics and specialized fields at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Incorporate applied learning techniques, real-world economic issues, and case studies into the curriculum.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in research and academic projects.
- Participate in curriculum development and updates to align with national and international academic standards.
Institutional Contribution and Service
- Support departmental initiatives, academic committees, and student mentorship programs.
- Organize and participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences to enhance the academic environment at PIDE.
- Contribute to faculty discussions on improving teaching methodologies and student engagement strategies.
- Assist in institutional research and administrative activities to strengthen PIDE’s academic programs.
Compliance with HEC and International Standards
- Ensure compliance with HEC regulations and institutional accreditation requirements.
- Stay updated on global advancements in economics, teaching methodologies, and research innovations.
- Actively engage in continuous professional development and academic training programs.
Research and Publications
- Engage in academic research in respective specialization areas and contribute to scholarly discourse.
- Publish in HEC-recognized, peer-reviewed journals and participate in national and international academic forums.
- Collaborate with senior faculty members on research projects and interdisciplinary studies.
- Seek funding opportunities for research and applied projects in relevant areas.
Student Mentorship and Development
- Advise and mentor students in their academic and career aspirations.
- Encourage student participation in research projects, competitions, and academic writing.
- Promote an environment of critical thinking, inquiry, and applied economic analysis.
Qualifications & Experience
- M.PhiL or a closely related field from a recognized/accredited and reputable institution.
- Demonstrated capacity for research and scholarly engagement.
- Strong teaching and communication skills with the ability to engage students effectively.
- A record of publications in recognized academic journals (for PhD holders, preferred).
Age: Maximum 50 Years
