About Me 

Dr. Shamaila Zareen is a Staff Economist at the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE), affiliated with the Centre of Energy, Logistics, and Infrastructure (CELI). She holds a PhD in Economics from the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI). Her research primarily focuses on public sector governance and macroeconomic stability, with particular emphasis on the role of public sector size and public debt. By bridging data-driven analysis with practical policy solutions, she contributes to advancing effective governance and sustainable growth strategies. She has expertise in Public Economics and Macroeconomics, supported by advanced proficiency in Stata for econometric modeling, while her secondary research interests extend to the energy, infrastructure and blue economy.
