Job Title: Assistant Treasurer

Job Summary

The Assistant Treasurer is a key financial officer responsible for supporting the Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer in managing the PIDE’s financial operations. This role involves assisting in budgeting, financial reporting, cash management, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Assistant Treasurer plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes, supporting the PIDE’s financial sustainability and contributing to the achievement of its strategic goals. The position requires strong financial acumen, attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Assist in the preparation, implementation and ongoing monitoring of PIDE’s annual budget to ensure compliance with approved allocations and financial regulations.
  • Support effective cash flow management by monitoring receipts and payments to maintain adequate liquidity and optimal utilization of funds.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, management reports, and presentations for the Treasurer, Vice Chancellor and regulatory authorities.
  • Prepare, review and verify payment and receipt vouchers in the ERP (SAP) system in accordance with applicable financial rules and internal controls.
  • Review and verify monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Prepare, review and verify schedules of assignment accounts and ensure their timely submission through the AGPR e-Portal.
  • Coordinate with AGPR, PIFRA, and designated banks for processing and reconciliation of quarterly grants.
  • Prepare PSIDs for the deposit of taxes into the government treasury and ensure timely compliance with statutory deadlines.
  • Prepare, review and verify withholding tax statements in accordance with prevailing tax laws and FBR requirements.
  • Prepare and issue withholding tax certificates to vendors, employees and other stakeholders as required.
  • Assist in coordination with external audit firms and support the finalization of treasury-related accounts under the supervision of the Deputy Treasurer.
  • Maintain proper financial records, documentation and audit trails to support transparency and accountability.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Deputy Treasurer or Treasurer from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration (Accounting / Finance), or M.com. A professional certification (e.g., CA, ACMA, ACCA, CFA) is highly desirable.
  2. Three years of experience in the relevant field. Experience in the Educational or Research organization will be an advantage.
