Then, by the time the initial 10 people have recovered (or died), 15 people will be infected. By the time those 15 people recover, another 22-23 people have been infected and so on. Thus, the infection keeps growing. Of course, if 0 is 1, then 10 people are infected by the time the original 10 infected people recover (or die). So over time, there is a constant of 10 people who are infected at any given time. Most calculations being done are trying to use the value 0 to estimate the path COVID-19 is going to take.
