PAKISTAN LACKS SPACES for an indepth and critical discourse around core issues that afflict our country. Media, unfortunately, hardly provides that space and Universities either don’t do it or are inaccessible to common people.  At Pakistan 2047 (Pakistan 2047 – An Alternative Future for Pakistan) we are hoping to create one such space for conversations to learn and ask.  I am pleased to launch Pakistan 2047 Conversations: Honest and Critical Discourse on the Past, Present, and Future with Athar Osama (and Colleagues). We will try our best to do this every 10 days or so! JOIN US ON OCT 22, 2021 (Friday) at 5pm via Zoom as we kick-off the first ever Pakistan 2047 Conversations featuring Dr. Nadeem Ul Haque, Vice Chancellor PIDE and former Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission. Dr. Nadeem ul Haque is an unconventional thinker and a doer. He is the author of ‘Looking Back: How Pakistan Became an Asian Tiger by 2050″ a book that I have been reading lately. He has also initiated a prolific series of reports and online dialogues since the start of the Pandemic through PIDE that is a valiant attempt to jumpstart conversations in the society. We’ll talk about the book, his work at PIDE, as well as more broadly on reflections on life and times.  Join us, by registering at http://www.pif.org.pk/2047 (to receive an invite) as we initiate conversations to help chart a course of a more prosperous Pakistan!
