Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) has signed a Memorandum of Understating (MOU) with Chainstore Association of Pakistan (CAP). CAP is the largest trade body of organized retailers in Pakistan and represents over 200 of the largest retailers in the country. The organized retail sector operates approximately 20,000 outlets and 1,000,000 people are either directly or indirectly employed by the sector.
Under the terms of the MOU, the two organisations will through mutual collaboration undertake substantive research on issues pertaining to the retail sector in Pakistan with special focus on chain-stores and their businesses in the country.
The MOU was signed following a meeting between PIDE’s research & training teams and representatives from the Chainstore Association of Pakistan (CAP) held on 21st Feb, 2022 in Islamabad.
CAP Chairman, Rana Tariq Mehboob, and PIDE, Director Research, Dr. Durr-e-Nayab signed the official memorandum of understanding on behalf of their respective organisations.
