Syed Hasanat Shah

Dr. Syed Hasanat Shah holds a PhD in World Economy from Jilin University, China, and specializes in international trade, foreign direct investment (FDI), regional connectivity, and digitalization. His research has been published in leading journals, including Finance Research Letters, Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, Applied Economics, Journal of Policy Modeling, and Energy Policy etc. Dr. Shah supervised students from diverse cultural backgrounds coming from Europe, Africa and Asia. He has previously served at Quaid-i-Azam University and the State Bank of Pakistan and has worked on Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) related projects at Jilin University. He is a recipient of two Organizational Competence Awards from the State Bank of Pakistan and the Excellent Foreign Expert Award from China’s Jilin Province.
