Policy

The Policy Advocacy wing at the Institute serves as the critical bridge between rigorous research and real-world policy action. It translates evidence-based research into compelling policy narratives, actionable recommendations, and sustained dialogue with policymakers and stakeholders. Through strategic engagements with government entities, development partners, academia, think tanks, media, and civil society, the Institute actively shapes public policy debates and contributes to informed decision- making. By convening policy dialogues, roundtables, training sessions, and public forums, and by maintaining strong national and subnational knowledge networks, Policy Advocacy ensures that the Institute’s research directly informs policy formulation, implementation, and reform, strengthening the culture of evidence-based policymaking in Pakistan.

OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENTS

Outreach & Engagements are the Institute’s primary platform for translating research into policy dialogue and public discourse. Through structured interactions with policymakers, development partners, practitioners, academia, media, and other stakeholders, this function ensures that evidence generated at the Institute informs national and sub-national policy debates, strengthens institutional linkages, and supports timely, actionable policy responses.

Conferences

The Institute organises national and international conferences to convene policymakers, researchers, practitioners, and thought leaders around critical economic and public policy challenges. These conferences provide a high-level forum to present research findings, test policy ideas, foster cross-sector collaboration, and influence policy agendas through evidence-based discussion and strategic networking.

Seminars and webinars serve as regular, focused platforms for knowledge sharing and policy discourse. Designed to encourage timely engagement with emerging issues, these sessions bring together experts, government officials, academics, practitioners, and students to discuss research insights, policy options, and reform pathways, both in person and virtually, to ensure broad and inclusive participation.

Policy Engagements comprise structured, evidence-driven interactions with government institutions, development partners, and other key stakeholders to inform policy design, review, and implementation. These engagements include policy briefings, consultations, workshops, roundtable discussions, panel discussions, and guest lectures, providing platforms for informed dialogue between researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and opinion leaders. Grounded in the Institute’s research, Policy Engagements facilitate sustained exchange, practical problem-solving, and the effective translation of evidence into actionable public policy.
