Center for Agriculture, Climate Change & Rural Economy (CACCRE)

Introduction

Climate change has emerged as one of the greatest threats to humanity, posing serious risks to ecosystems, economies, and societies worldwide. Pakistan remains one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change, despite contributing less than one percent of global emissions. Although Pakistan’s overall emissions are relatively low, national emissions are rising, necessitating immediate action on multiple fronts. There is a critical need for a comprehensive national plan to address climate related challenges. The Center for Agriculture, Climate Change & Rural Economy (CACCRE) is dedicated to advancing knowledge and policy solutions for climate resilience and sustainability. By integrating research, innovation, and capacity building, CACCRE fosters evidence-based decision-making to mitigate climate change impacts and promote environmental sustainability. The center collaborates with governments, academia, and industries to drive climate action and sustainable development.
