The World Bank will be hosting a conversation on development priorities for Pakistan. This is to be held on September 22 and 23, 2023 in Islamabad, and is part of the engagement and outreach program Reforms for a Brighter Future: Time to Decide. The dialogue will bring together experts and policy makers for structured discussion of reform priorities in the following critical areas:
Strengthening Government Revenues, Rationalizing Public Expenditure, Transforming the Private Sector, Unleashing the Agri-Food Sector, Achieving Sustainable Energy, Accelerating Progress on Child Stunting, Improving Learning Outcomes, and Strengthening Institutions for Effective Implementation.
Over the month of August, together with our partner, the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, we’ve been taking the conversation across the country to hear what people think about reform priorities in these areas. The upcoming dialogue will bring together leading thinkers from youth, academia, think tanks, business, public sector, and civil society from across Pakistan to discuss how reforms in these areas can shape the future of Pakistan and enable a sustainable shift towards inclusive economic development.
